The ROG Falcata is the first split keyboard from Asus
First major brand with a split keyboard offering.

The Asus ROG Falcata split gaming keyboard is one gadget I'll be looking out for.
I’ve been hooked on split keyboards for my work desk ever since I tried one - the wrist ergonomics are just so much better. In fact, I even lug one along on out-of-town trips.
The problem? There are very few split keyboard options available.
This is why the ROG Falcata, announced at Computex last month, caught my attention.

The ROG Falcata
The ROG Falcata is a split gaming keyboard that incorporates magnetic switches from Asus.
- 75% layout with scroll wheel.
- Halves are joined by USB-C cable.
- Magnetic switches designed for gaming.
- 3 connectivity options: Bluetooth, wireless, USB-C.
The 2.4GHz wireless mode offers up to 8000Hz polling rate with up to 610 hours of battery life. This presumably goes up with "slow" Bluetooth.

Keyboard switches
I'm more interested in having a lighter split keyboard that I can potentially put in my luggage rather than for gaming. I'm more of a fan for "clicky" key switches, though, not the default silent ones.
Thankfully, the switches are hot-swappable, though there are no other switch options for the Falcata yet. I was told that other vendors are expected to eventually make aftermarket keyboard switches.
The ROG Falcata isn't released yet but should be within the next month or two.
I'll share my thoughts once I get hold of one to test out.
Do you use a split keyboard?
