The Logitech MX Anywhere 3S mouse is my must-have laptop companion when I travel or write when I'm away from my desk.

I've tried various computer mice and always find myself coming back to Logitech's Anywhere series for its overall usability and reliability.

**What I like about it**

The MX Anywhere 3S has what you expect from a travel mouse: compact size, an on-off switch, and a 90-day built-in battery recharged via USB-C.

The main appeal to me is the 'MagSpeed Smartshift' scroll wheel. Through clever engineering (or the dedicated button), it switches between a hyper-fast scroll mode and a ratchet mode that goes click-by-click.

Really handy to intuitively scroll rapidly through Word documents, websites or PDFs, without losing the ability to for fine control.

**Other features I like**

- Tracks on anything.
- Multiple DPI settings.
- Switch between 3 devices.

Another feature across the Anywhere family is a "Track Anywhere" sensor that works even on glass. Perfect for unfamiliar places with less-than-optimal mousing surfaces.

Though to be clear, I do bring along a small cloth mousepad for hotels with glass work desks - While it works on glass, I couldn't stand the slightly poorer experience.

**Final note**

Unlike what I recalled from my MX Anywhere 2, the Anywhere 3S doesn't come with a Bolt wireless USB receiver. If you want it, you'll need to purchase one for SG$20.

It doesn't bother me personally, as I use the Anywhere 3S with Bluetooth; I also have a drawer full of Logitech receivers collected over the years.

I do use Bolt/Unifying receivers with my other Logitech mice at my desk - I find it offers slightly better responsiveness and reliability.

Do you use a travel mouse?
