About TechStories

My name is Paul Mah, and this is the site where I publish my daily tech stories. I generally write about the following topics:

Sometimes, I also review the occasional gadget, talk about the art of writing or ink down my personal musings.

Everything I post here is free, and I do plan to keep it that way. You can sign up for my newsletter digest if you don't want to miss anything.

Redefining writing in the AI era

It's true that there are a million websites out there. And in the age of AI, generating words has never been easier or cheaper.

I rely on storytelling and a mix of techniques to communicate complex topics clearly and simply. My goal is for readers to walk away feeling smarter, with a fresh perspective or new insights.

Each post averages between 350 and 500 words, though I craft them to feel much shorter - you'll finish reading before you realize it.

What's your readership?

Today, my content generates millions of impressions on LinkedIn a year with an average of over 200 engagements per post (365-day average).

My newsletter currently goes out to 2,000 inboxes every week with an open rate of 50% and a click-through rate of 10% (90-day average). Readers sign up via double-opt-in and are typically either professionals or experts in technical fields, often in senior leadership positions.

My focus is entirely on quality content and highly engaged readership, not quantity. This means I'm not into rehashing content or chasing viral trends. I focus on thoughtful, original writing that adds real value.

Is your content AI generated?

Do I use AI to write the posts here? It's a fair question, since I do produce a fair amount of content - and that's on top of the writing I do for my day job.

The short answer is no, nothing you see here is written by AI. And the reason is simple: I respect your time, and I put in the effort to write concise, valuable content that's crafted to be highly readable.

I respect your time, and I put in the effort to write concise, valuable content that's crafted to be highly readable.

But how is it possible to put out so many insights consistently? Writing is thinking, as they say. It's amazing what can sprout from a mere seed of an idea and a blank page. My ace card? When I don't have anything meaningful to say, I move on to explore something else.

Naturally, I do invest my own time to meet with experts, read extensively, and attend briefings and conferences to learn more. It's fair to say that most of my knowledge and ideas originate from industry experts - I'm really the conduit for sharing their knowledge in an accessible way.

Disclosures

While I don't employ AI to produce my stories, I do use it extensively to help me in my craft. Consider the ubiquitous spellchecker found in every writing application today. I utilise AI in much the same way to refine word choice, enhance readability, and catch errors.

To keep this sustainable for the long term, I'm exploring brand collaborations, likely through strategic content partnerships. However, you can be confident that I will never endorse anything that I don't personally believe in.
